Extra 330LT is a two-seat tandem aerobatic monoplane with fiberEFIS cockpit. The design is based on an early 1980s monoplane by german aerobatic pilot Walter Extra. The fuselage is assembled of a welded steel tube covered in aluminum and fabric. Wings have a carbon fiber composite spar and carbon composite skins. Asymmetrical airfoil, mounted with a zero of incidence, providing equal performance in both upright and inverted flight. The landing gear is a fixed taildragger with composite main legs. The first two-seat Extra 300 made its maiden flight in May 1988 followed by the single-seat Extra 300S in March 1992.
To reach the maximum cruise speed of 205 knots (380 km/h) the Extra 330LT has a powerplant of fuel-injected Lycoming AEIO-580 six-cylinder which produces 315 horsepower (235 kW). The maximum take-off weight is 870 kg (1,918 lb) so you can carry up to 210 kg (463 lb) of payload including a full tank having 131 kg (289 lb) of fuel. For cross-country or transfer flights, the maximum flight range with reserves is 580 nautical miles (1,074 km). Some nice to know information if you see this plane at the airshows is that the maximum roll rate is 270 degrees per second.
The Extra 330LT is flyable in the next generation of Microsoft Flight Simulator Standard, Deluxe, and Premium Deluxe Editions.
