Virtual Fly has been manufacturing high-quality flight simulation hardware for many years. The first thing you notice when unboxing Virtual Fly Ruddo Plus is the weight. With aluminum alloy pedals and all-metal construction, the pedals are about 11 kg. Ruddo Plus comes with a two-year warranty, even though I can’t imagine it breaking up at any point due to its rock-solid structure. The look of Ruddo Plus resembles a Cessna 172 pedals, wide footrests with a Z-shaped section to differentiate the brake area on the top end for toes.ruddo_4_shop-1024x682-1 Virtual Fly Ruddo Plus ReviewMovement of the pedals is linear for 35 mm forward and backward. The bottom of the pedals sits quite high over the floor. To brake, you will likely have to lift the feet off the floor like in real aircraft. The pedal’s large plate can be affixed to the floor via screws or rested against a wall. There’s also velcro straps included for expanding the ways of getting the pedals to stay still. Setting up the Ruddo Plus is easy, just plug in with a USB cable and it’s automatically recognized as a controller in the simulator.

Ruddo Plus uses “load cells” to convert the force exerted on the pedals. This improves direction precision when both pedals are pressed and ameliorates the effect of differential braking. Ruddo Plus uses pressure sensors to do this, which prevents the aircraft from skidding one way or another during braking the other pedal harder than the other. On slowing down after landing, you will be able to decelerate straight with no effort. For narrow turnaround, you can brake on only one side to execute a tight ground turn.
ruddo_9_shop-1024x682-1 Virtual Fly Ruddo Plus ReviewRuddo Plus pedals area equipped with hall sensors, which rely on digital chips distance from a magnet which means nothing can break. Ruddo Plus makes the aircraft in a simulator behave as expected of a real aircraft. Virtual Fly Ruddo Plus is compatible with the new Microsoft Flight Simulator, FSX, Prepar3D, and X-Plane. It’s quite clear that Ruddo Plus is essentially a professional-grade set of pedals for home cockpits and flight schools with a lot of daily in-sim flight lessons.
